Scooter/Bike Safety Class Input Needed
The board is working on being proactive in trying to better our community. One way is to show the children/teens that we want them playing in our neighborhood. With so many additional people on bikes and scooters and traffic heavier with the addition of the new homes, we feel we can offer this class as a way of being proactive. We are planning a Safety Class to be conducted by the Kingston Police Dept. We will serve food such as pizza and ice cream. We would like to find out if parents would be interested in bringing their children to the class.
Are you interested in the safety class?
I would be interested in attending with my child.
I would be interested in sending my child.
I am not interested.
I don't have children at home, but support the idea.

Board Meetings "Robert's Rules of Order"
The board recently adopted "Robert's Rules of Order" for conducting our meetings. All are welcome to attend these meetings the 2nd Thursday of each month.
"Robert's Rules of Order" is a widely recognized guide for conducting meetings and making decisions in a structured and orderly manner. It was first published by Henry Martyn Robert in 1876 and has since been revised and expanded.
The rules provide a framework for running meetings efficiently, ensuring fairness, and maintaining decorum. Some key principles include:
1. **Order of Business**: A standard agenda outlining the order in which items are discussed.
2. **Motions**: Formal proposals made by members to take action on a specific matter.
3. **Amendments**: Changes or alterations to motions.
4. **Voting**: The process by which decisions are made, typically requiring a majority vote.
5. **Debate and Discussion**: Rules for how members can discuss and express their opinions on motions.
6. **Quorum**: The minimum number of members required to conduct business.
7. **Rights of the Minority**: Ensuring that the minority has an opportunity to be heard and considered.
8. **Adjournment**: The process of formally ending a meeting.
9. **Point of Order**: A member's right to raise a concern if they believe the rules are not being followed.
10. **Appeals**: The process for challenging a ruling by the presiding officer.
"Robert's Rules of Order" is commonly used in various organizations, including governments, non-profits, and businesses, to facilitate fair and effective decision-making processes during meetings.
