A big shout out to Sandy Tallant as she is doing everything she can to get the pool ready for May 26th opening. The residents have asked us to thank her for all she is doing in getting it ready.
Vinyl Fence Maintenance
Vinyl fences are popping up in neighborhoods all across the country, and it's easy to see why. They're extremely weather resistant and, unlike wood, vinyl won't ever rot, splinter, warp or crack. Vinyl fences are attractive, insect-proof and never need to be painted—nor scraped, sanded and repainted. Plus, vinyl stays in like-new condition for many years. That's why many homeowners are choosing to have vinyl fencing installed in their yard... see article.
Kids Safety Tips in the HOA
1. Children should be wearing helmets when they are riding their bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc.
2. Supervise your children at the pool.
3. Slow down while driving through the neighborhood.
4. Remind older kids to check in at home often.
5. Teach children to be proactive by teaching them how to follow traffic rules while on their bikes and scooters.
6. Teach them how to take action when faced with an injury or stranger encounter.
7. Mutual support among parents can foster a sense of community and create a supportive environment for families. Establish a parent network, share information and resources, create a safe environment, Support each other during challenging time. By working together, parents can create a nurturing environment where families can thrive and support each other.
Beautification Committee News
When you come into the neighborhood, you probably have noticed there is a new "roundabout" going in. It matches the 4 rock columns and the entrance sign. The plan is to have an American flag and a VOCF flag with our new logo. There will be lights shining on the flags.
Lisa Joseph, along with the architect control committee, has researched and come up with a plan to add orange mock bushes along Village Way immediately past the aluminum fencing. This will help hide the vinyl fences that have been installed behind the new homes on Franklin Village Trce. The bushes will be planted in the fall. There will be a combination other trees and/or bushes which have not yet been determined. Pictured here is the mock orange bush.
Other plans include additional streetlights, a playground refreshing day, and cleaning the aluminum fence along the entrance.
New Logo
Josh Banken designed our new logo and the members of the HOA voted for this beautiful new logo from several choices. You will see it flying as one of the flags at the 4 way stop (roundabout).
